All workshops (onsite or open-enrollment)

What should I bring to class?

The programs are hands-on with exercises throughout. You’ll want to have a calculator, pencil, pen and highlighter.

What is the ‘recommended attire’?

If onsite, check with your company guidelines. Please note that the heating/cooling systems vary and Linda often does not have control over them. We recommend layered, casual or business-casual clothing… dress for comfort.

Wear something good for a hot room but bring a sweater or jacket in case it is too cool for you. As you can imagine, a warm room and tax return analysis are a lousy combination so Linda tends toward cool rooms when possible.

How can I make sure I know about future programs?

You can sign up to receive our ‘Ask Linda’ monthly email. The email is sent out monthly with the upcoming schedule along with Linda’s answer to a lender’s question and other articles we feel you will be interested in. It lists the newest modules on Lender’s Online Tools and Training™ and the blog-posts for the month. You can ‘opt out’ at any time.

You also may use our contact form to join our postal mailing list and receive the flyers in the mail. Provide your full name and mailing address. When you get the flyers, remember to pass them along to your colleagues as well so no one misses out.

On-site workshops

Is there a limit to the number of attendees?

Class size is limited to 40 to allow for personal attention. If that is a challenge, have a chat with Linda about how or whether to accommodate more.

Do we make Linda’s hotel reservation?

When you return the training proposal, we ask that you indicate several hotels nearby for Linda to choose from. We’ll handle making the reservation.

What are Linda’s AV needs?

Linda uses a digital projector and laptop to present the program. For groups over 15, she also uses a microphone. When you return the training proposal, we ask that you indicate whether you need Linda to bring her own laptop, projector, microphone and/or speaker. She has it all and is happy to provide it if you do not.

Does Linda have a preferred room set-up?

Yes she does. Linda knows that your training or conference room may not have a flexible layout and will work with what you can provide. If you have options, or if you are renting meeting space, please use this room-setup guide. She has designed it for maximum interaction of the learners and easy access to them as they work on case studies.

How is printing handled?

For the tax return and financial statement analysis workshops, we will ship manuals to your location to arrive about four days prior. If it is a customized program requiring additional handouts, we will coordinate with you to determine if Linda will send originals in advance for printing or bring printed handouts with her.

Manual fees and out-of-pocket for printing are invoiced to the client.

Open-enrollment workshops

Is there still space in the workshop?

Yes! Although we prefer early registrations, we always allow for ‘last minute’ attendees. Even the day of the training!

How do I register for a workshop?

You can register three different ways:

  • On-line at our Find a class page using a charge card.
  • Use page four of this flyer and mail with payment
  • Use page four of this flyer, SCAN it and email to Jen@LindaKeithCPA.com.

How do I pay for a registration?

  • On-line at our Find a class page using a charge card.
  • Mail this form with check payable to Linda Keith CPA to Linda Keith, CPA, PO Box 1366, Olympia, WA 98507
  • Invoice… Just SCAN and email this form to Info @LindaKeithCPA.com.

What if my payment won’t get to you before the workshop? Should I just bring the check with me?

Banks and credit unions: It is easier for us if you just mail the check. Once your ‘space is reserved’ you are set to attend. We understand that it can sometimes take a couple of weeks for a check to be processed through your accounting department.

For other attendees, please bring your check with you.

How much is the registration?

The registration fee ranges from $385 to $495.00 per person per day (depending on the number you send) which includes your training materials. Your registration is no extra charge if you are a refresher student (have taken that same workshop within 24 months prior) or are using a raincheck from an unused registration paid for in the previous 12 months. Anyone in your company can use an open raincheck. Register online now.

Is there a ‘group discount’?

Yes! We offer reduced pricing for 4 or more attendees. See the specific page for the city you want to attend for details.

What is the difference between the two Tax Return Analysis programs?

Linda’s focus is lending to businesses or to business owners. Personal loans to business owners require a review of the business return. Business loans to small-to-medium-size businesses generally must be guaranteed by an owner and require a review of the personal return. So for most every lender, both days are critical.

Day I includes information that applies to all types of returns. We cover how to work your way through a tax return and find the types of adjustments that get you from taxable income to recurring cashflow. The case studies are from the 1040 Tax Return and cover Sole Proprietorships or one-owner LLCs, Capital Gains, Rentals and the various forms/schedules that feed into the 1040.

Day II continues with Partnerships (General and Limited), Corporations (C&S), and LLCs. Day II is not recommended if you have not had Day I or equivalent training or experience.

Do I have to take both days at the same time?

It is highly recommended. For most lenders and underwriters, both days in succession is the best choice. Day I sets the stage for both days and Day II reinforces what was learned on the first day. Since refreshers are free for up to two years, there is no disadvantage to taking both at the same series, even for beginners.

What time does the program start?

For open-enrollment programs, registration is at 8:00 am. Linda starts promptly at 8:30 am though you will want to be there no later than 8:15 am to allow time to sign in, get your materials, and settle in for a fun day of training.

For in-house training it is determined by our client.

Do you provide lunch?

For open-enrollment sessions, lunch is ‘on your own’. We often arrange a pre-order with the hotel restaurant. Linda will give you the details as we start our day.

For in-house or locally hosted programs, the lunch may be provided. It is up to the client or the host. Bring money, then you won’t go hungry! ‘-)

When is the training day over?

The workshops are scheduled to go until 5:00 pm. We sometimes get out a bit earlier. It depends on the size of the class and the needs of the participants.

What is a ‘refresher’?

The ‘refresher’ allows a participant to attend the program again at no charge up to 24 months after their paid attendance! Why? Experienced lenders may shift to a different type of lending and have a whole new set of questions. A manager may not be sure whether to wait until a junior lender has more experience before getting the training. Problem solved.

If the open-enrollment program is locally hosted by a bank or credit union, I cannot promise there will be room for refresher students. On the registration page you’ll be directed to send an email and get on the wait list. We’ll fit you in if we can.

How do I qualify for the complimentary refresher?

Your open-enrollment class fee includes unlimited refreshers for up to 24 months for the same participant attending the same course. Bring your manuals from the first session. Eligible? Register online now.

What is a raincheck?

A raincheck is from a paid registration to an open-enrollment workshop that was unused. It is good for 12 months and can be used by anyone in the company for either day of training. You also can apply it to our Lender’s Online Training. Contact us at info@LindaKeithCPA.com to put that option in play.

Is the manual included in the registration fee?

Yes! Each program includes a 200+ page reference manual loaded with hands-on exercises, detailed explanations and ‘self-study’ instructions. They include camera-ready worksheets for your use.

What is your refund policy?

Substitutions are always acceptable. If you must cancel contact us ten business days in advance for a full refund. If you can’t give notice, anyone in your company may use your ‘raincheck’ in any program in the next twelve months.

I wasn’t able to attend a program that I paid for. How do I register for another date?

Two choices:

  1. Just fill out the registration form as you normally would. However, where you would ‘calculate payment’ instead write in ‘raincheck’ with the Month/Year you were originally registered for. SCAN and email the form over to us at Info@LindaKeithCPA.com.
  2. Register online and select ‘refresher’ as your option. You will not be charged.

Do you provide certificates of attendance?

Yes! After the program(s) are completed you will receive your certificate of attendance by email.
